Chevrolet or Chevy has been around since 1911. Louis Chevrolet along with William Little and Edwin Cambell, William Durant’s son-in-law (owner of GM) Incorporated Chevrolet motor company of Michigan. Durant incorporates Chevrolet Motor Company of Delaware in 1915. 1916 Durant announces that Chevrolet now has control of 54.5 percent of the GM stock that Durant had lost before turning over GM. Now that Durant has Control of GM he then Bought the controlling assets of Chevrolet. Since GM already owned Buick, Cadillac, Pontiac and now Chevrolet that gave him the power to do just about anything. Durant now had the opportunity to go nation wide which he did in Europe. Chevy has been the leader in large commercial trucks since 1929 when it released its 6 cylinder engines. That is what Chevrolet uses to thrive its business to this day. Now since then GM has become the major player is the automotive industry with several successful makes and models.
